Tips on how to complete the selfie verification

Why am I being asked to do this?

As part of your identity check you will be asked to complete selfie verification which is used to confirm that you are the person who is pictured on the ID document that you have uploaded. You are required to take a live selfie rather than uploading an image of your face.

What am I going to be asked to do?

You will be asked to open the camera on your device and take a selfie. This will involve you looking directly at the camera, then looking slightly to the left , and slightly to the right.

If you are completing your ID check on a computer that does not have a camera, you can press “Continue on another device” to complete the process on your mobile phone.

The system should recognise when you are central to the screen and automatically take the photo, so you do not need to press anything. It will then ask you to turn to the left and once it has registered the left side of your face it will ask you to turn right. If successful, a red tick will appear on the screen.

Tips for success:

· Ensure you are in a well-lit room

· Make sure you are appropriately dressed

· Centre your face on the screen

· Remove glasses or anything else that covers your face

· Keep your phone still

· Do not smile, have a neutral facial expression
